Let me preface this by saying that there are few romance books that suck me in and keep me there. This was one of them. There was this sense of being on the edge of my seat as Max and Anna worked thru things. I love that Kat says that Love is hard. It is. Even when there’s connection, heat, and tingles…love is hard. Max is closed off for very valid reasons, coming from a disastrous relationship, and Anna is closed off due to a past that she tortures and guilts herself over. This leads to misunderstandings, harsh words, seeing things that don’t exist, and bruised hearts. When communication isn’t clear, or past ghosts make an appearance in the present, relationships take a hit. Add to this the taboo nature of a work office romance, or the beginnings of one…and everything gets complicated. I love that this story is a story of redemption, giving yourself grace even if you don’t think you’ve earned it, and friends to help pull your head out of your behind. Can you tell I loved this story? Also, Kat is devious. Don’t let her tell you that she isn’t. You’ll know what I’m talking about when you read. This is a one click must binge book. Trust me.

What a book! I laughed out loud a bunch of times, loved the flirtation between the characters, loved how it was all interconnected in different ways, I wanted to cry a few times, but don’t worry it ends with a HEA! This book gave me so many emotions and all the feels. AnnaLeigh is an executive assistant who has put her love of music on the back burner. While at the beach with her friends, she is struck dumb by a broody alpha male who has jerk written all over him. So, why can’t she get him out of her head? Max has taken a new Senior Vice President position in another state just to escape his toxic family. While out for a run, he is offered some water by some ladies and can’t keep his eyes off one in particular, Blue, for her bikini. He was a complete jerk to her and can’t get over that but surely he won’t ever see her again anyway. I just discovered Kat Long and her short stories had me hooked. This one, this book though, has me wanting more, so much more for her! Loved it!!
